HELP...Should I assist an egg while it is hatching?

I woke up at about 4 a.m. (this morning) to a pecking sound coming from the duck eggs in my incubator. I am a newbie and have never hatch ant type of egg. I saw a crack in the egg and over the next couple of hours heard more pecking. I have heard nothing from the egg for about 3 hours now. What is normal? Should I assist the duckling?
