Thank you - and thanks for the Welcome also. I'll so that. I'll keep the little one inside at night, with a blanket - I found this site accidentally when I was hunting for the correct temperature to hat chicken eggs at. I'f I'm not successful with these "pre-loved by hen" eggs - then I'll try some more fertilised eggs - from scratch. I have a love for the Pekin Bantams, buff colour in particular. The hen that was sitting is one of these - she had a dislocated leg about 18 months ago - this was put back in by the vet, but she didn't hold out much hope for my poor old hen. She raised a few chicks, one of which is still here (the only hen) - having babies improved her condition dramatically....my chickens get cod liver oil (for their bones) and Maltexo also.
