Consuming a bird with a staph infection would not be my first choice. Besides that, why in the world would he want to cull her after you went to all that trouble to help her? You have your answer to how long. It all depends on how long the infection had been in place. If left untreated it can go systemic and oral or injectable antibiotics are needed. As long as you got all of the infection out her recovery should be on the shorter side. Don't take eating and drinking as a sign she's healed because unless its gone systemic they will continue to be normal in every way.
