How long will this take?

I have looked at several websites about bumble foot. I have done that they suggested and my hen seems to be doing fine. She is eating, and drinking, and pooping of course. Her foot is wrapped and she is actually moving around. My question is how long does it take to cure this? The sites state anywhere from 7days to 6 weeks. That is very broad! Does anyone know how long this usually takes to cure? Also, my husband is intent on axing her, but wants to know if we can eat her. I do not think it is a good idea to eat a sick bird, but I told him I would ask. Thanks for any help, Cher
