I've given the pepper so long, everything is turning red, including his feces! I just noticed yesterday, so right away, I took away his Cayenne food and put in the normal stuff.
Yesterday, I also checked the face again on the two of them and now the rooster's face was pale and the hen had gotten some color back. So they switched roles. So odd. I'll look for this Red Cell but chances are, TSC doesn't have it. That'll mean I'll have to find it online.
My mother thinks the rooster's crow is getting better, but I'm having a difficult time noticing a difference. His ending sounds slightly improved, though. Less like crying, as I had taken to saying each morning, "The rooster is crying again."
The hen is showing an interesting character. I put her and the rooster together for a short time yesterday, and he started dancing around her and everything. Age really showed when the hen growled and started walking toward him with a threatening stance. Kept him in there for a few minutes and he stood there, as far away from the hen as possible, waiting for me to take him away.
I've never seen a rooster this age shaken from a hen.
When Dash was 9 months old, he was mating with hens too small, hens who weren't his, hens who objected, and attacking everyone who crossed his path. But this timid rooster is a good change. I hope he'll stay this way, but with wealth comes greed. I hope his new lady-friends won't bring out the worst in him. 3 more weeks of isolation, to this day, if there is nothing else wrong with him and the hen.
Sophomore year. Not easy work...
