Robin, Like Charles said, she needs her privacy. A seperate broody quarters is a good investment if you intend to let any hen hatch chicks. Also you mentioned her not eating. Nature has a way of letting her know when she needs food and water. If you had her penned alone you could tell she`s been off the nest by the huge poops left behind. It`s not necessary to make her eat and you don`t have to put food to close as she needs to eliminate and exercize. Good luck.....P
