Hey everyone,
I just aquired some new hens today and I realized once I got home that one of them has a deformed looking beak. I had never seen this before so I was very shocked and upset at first, not knowing what it was. I just looked it up online and found that it is called a "crossed beak"? I don't have a picture of her yet, but I found this one online that looks just like it. She seems to be able to eat and drink ok, and since she is 6 months old and stil around (since it's a birth defect) I think she's learned to cope with it.
Has anyone else had a chicken with this problem? If so, is there any advice on special means of care or anything? Or is there anything I can do to help her? She's such a sweetie, I want to do everything I can to help her.
