Just curious if anyone has any thoughts - have a wonderful Rhode Island Red rooster (Big Red - and he is). He keeps watch, breaks up fights, spends all day hunting down good bugs for the girls, services all 40 of them regularly
, and is very vigilant watching and calling danger to them. For whatever reason, those hens will not let him have a tail feather. He doesn't have one - they pull them out as soon as they start to grow. He is so handsome and had a beautiful tail when he was about a year old. We had several roosters then but he wouldn't tolerate any other rooster and beat the bejesus out of them so they all went but him. Any ideas?
