I'm dubious about using Wonder Dust on a bird like that. It's very caustic stuff. How about icthammol (grandpa used to call it "drawing salve") which will also fight infection and tend to pull out material in a wound? You can get it in tack shops, perhaps in pet stores or your pharmacy.
