Here is a big if, but well here it is.
IF you can tell where the racoon went into the cages put the trap there so that maybe they will just waltz in and not notice. Jelly works the best I have seen so far as Lew said.
Um ok this is kinda gross but give it a go. Pee around the cages...have everyone in the house pee around the cages.
Also if you have a large dog keep it close to cages at night. Just being there will keep the evil coons away.
Remember that they often run in families and while you may get 1 trapped the others may well still be lurking and waiting for you to relax your guards.
How sure are you that it is a raccoon? Did you see it? I ask because I am currently having issues with racoons and opossums. Both dig and I have seen both around my duck house and I have cought some raccoons, but the darn opossums elude me.
