I bait my trap 24/7 with a couple whole eggs. Not as hard to keep baited as other baits and works well. Sometimes the coons get trap smart and nothing works. However, I have The Recipe for hard cases. Lemme know if ya need it. As for chickens without toes roosting, use a 2X4 turned flat. They will adapt. Had some once that were given to me. Same thing, except rats ate their toes. I ended up culling them, but if you have to keep them, the 2X4 will work.....P
