Sorry, another one. This one comes from my mom. When she was growing up she told me a farm cat and a hen were very close and even slept together on the porch in a box with an old blanket. Well, she had chicks and that cat was fiercely protective of those babies. When mommy hen took them for a stroll mommy cat brought up the rear. Any other critter that came close that cat would pounce. Mom said her poor dog Sammy had a raw nose from sticking it places where it shouldn't of been. Mom has the best chicken stories and I still call her with questions.
