Blu-kote is a good product to use. I use it on my birds and we use it on our heifers when we de-horn them. Many a cow has been hurt from anothers "gentle" nudge of a horn. Anyways, sounds like you did a great job. Sometimes it matters not how careful we are intros just fail. Let the bird heal and try try again. There are several ideas for anti-pecking ointments. Some use noxzema or other such ointment. GL
