My birds free range as well. However, when I get a hawk in the area (like I did a week ago) I keep my girls in the pen for awhile. This is my first hawk attack since I moved to WV 2 years ago. I was not pleased. My girls are not pleased right now either. My egg production has dropped ever since I locked them up. "Girls, it's for your own good"
