If she is egg bound she will feel very bloated and usually you can feel an egg in the belly area if you press gently with your fingers. Sounds to me like she is just starting to lay. I have had a few hens get a little moody when they started. Probably like girls when they hit a certain age they feel funny. I don't disagree with Sharon in terms of addressing the "rubber egg" issue since I have had a terrible go round with that with one of my hens, but this may be a simple case of not having it all down yet. Mine laid soft eggs in the beginning, or funny shaped ones. Just make sure they have oyster shell available at all times, and some Avia Charge 2000 supplement will help too. Good luck.
