I think everyone makes that mistake the first time - it's so hard to resist a few more chicks than you planned on. We solved our problem the first time by expanding as Lew and Kate said - and we also added quite a few thick branches and sticks so that they could go up and get more use out of square footage we had until we could expand. They love to climb and roost and will all find favorite spots. It'll buy you some time until you lower your numbers or put on that addition...and I used good old Bag Balm from the feed store with some food color mixed in to sort of match their feather color for pecked chicks. It stops the picking (they hate the taste) and heals the wounds at the same time -
