Been there Jessica. Find the owner and make him pay. His homeownwer insurance will pay in most states. Make sure he know the dogs are short for this world if you see them in your yard and mean it. You have a right to protect what`s yours, even if they already killed all your birds. Sorry about your loss.
Lew has some good advice. Hog wire over the chicken wire at the bottom is good. You would be well advised to bury about a foot of it, or at least turn it out about a foot at the bottom and throw some dirt on it. Don`t cheap out with welded wire. Dogs can chew through that stuff, too.......Paul
