chicks that can not poop

Hi again! Can someone tell me how long the chicks can survive without pooping? The chicks that I have that have poopy butts still have not pooped. There butts are still inflamed and red, and I see no poop. I put molasses in the water and took the food away for 2 days now. They are still trying to poop and making a dreadful noise when they try. I do have them seperated from the others also. Is this just from being shipped or is it a disease? Someone please help! I feel so sorry for these chicks! Thanks So Much To All! Diana
