That's what I don't get. The soft shelled eggs happen from time to time, but how could an egg that has not been set on grow an embryo that size? It's just the wierdest thing I've ever seen in an egg. I collect them every day, and I check the roosting area for dropped eggs, pests, etc., so I know I didn't miss it. Besides, Having had these eggs before I know that after a day the soft shell gets leathery, and this one was still very soft. It had to have been that morning. Thanks for the other tip too. I'm just so perplexed by this one...
