Posted by KarenP in Lousiana on 10/6/2007, 12:43 am, in reply to "fainting Ameraucana" I laugh, because we had a barred rock chick exactly like that. She would sleep so hard, she'd be on her belly with her neck stretched out and legs behind her -looked dead as a doornail, and the other chicks would run all over her. One time we tried to pick her up from behind, and seriously - we thought we'd startled her to death! She appeared to be having a mini-seizure Her name is "Sweetie Pie", and to this day, (nearly 2 years old!)she just takes her sweet time doing anything she pleases. When I head toward the 'treat' bucket - the other hens make a mad dash behind me to be first one there. About the time they've lapped up the last of the hen scratch, S.Pie ambles up and appears very "put out" - "The very idea! Not waiting for me to get here...." So, all to say, your chick may be in 'full relax' mode; hopefully nothing to worry about!

How is "sleeping beauty" doing today?
and was very dazed & confused for a few minutes.
We've always considered her to be a little 'different' than the other girls.
