Having tried to track down lost artwork over the last year (primarily Gerardesca's), I wonder if one question people may want to consider when posting elsewhere is to ask yourself how long you think the board will be around for ? Is it likely to disappear after a couple of years ?
Don't forget what happened over at Yahoo. A large collection of material was built up over several years and then lost within a very short period of time as boards were deleted without notice.
I've been following SP since it's user.tninet.se days, or the best part of a decade. I do agree however, that time has moved on since SP was created and that user posted material is now the norm.
Just be wary of building up a collection elsewhere only to have it suddenly disappear one day. You may wish to post to more than one board to guard against that.
One final thought to everyone reading: If SP, or a similar website, was to disappear tomorrow, do you have all the material you are interested in stored locally, or would you be cursing yourself for not having copied it while the website was still active ?
