Inquiry into collaborative efforts

Color me darkly curious. Im wondering if anyone has done any form of collaborative effort: an artist with a story teller or two poser artists crating a story together. Has it ever been done with this interest in mind? The thought occured to me some time ago and Im sure many of us, of who time is a restriction, may have pondered it. ----- Along this same line of thinking I wonder if any who are more into the professional side of it have done things with other companies. It would be interesting to know if there is something along this line. Just imagine it; a large scale production derrived of several smaller efforts craftily put together. Oh the dark hope and dreams...
