When Princess Madeleine was firstly engaged to a Swede it was announced her husband would be styled with her ducal titles after the wedding.
When she married her Anglo-American husband he declined those titles as he decided he wanted to continue his business career outside of Sweden.
England, Scotland, Spain, Portugal, Navarre, Jerusalem and Sicily all have known reigning queens and husband who became king(-consorts). So the husband taking the style of his wife is not as common historically because of a male preferred system, but it did happen.
I must query the title shown under the banner pic.
Never before have I seen anything like that - the man's title derived from his wife's.
Is it really so?
