Edited to add: he is also Heir to/of Norway, a title all members of the House of Oldenburg bore historically.
I know that a renunciation of succession rights doesn't necessarily imply a renunciation of titles. But I believe that HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Consort of the United Kingdom, did indeed renounce all the royal titles he was born to, in addition to succession rights. Correct?
With respect to the titles, there is no direct evidence that he did anything beyond simply stop using them. In my opinion, this puts the Greek and Danish princely titles in the same category as the UK as Philip’s other dynastic titles (Duke of Schleswig, Holstein, Stormarn, Dithmarschen, Lauenburg, and Oldenburg) are in Greece and in Denmark: disused, but still there.
The titles aren’t necessarily tied to succession rights. Since 1953 only the descendants of Christian X have succession rights in Denmark, yet male-line descendants of Christian IX have the title Prince of Denmark.
It is my view that Philip’s legitimate male-line descendants are Princes and Princesses of Greece and Denmark, and Dukes and Duchess of Schleswig, Holstein, Stormarn, Dithmarschen, Lauenburg, and Oldenburg... despite the fact that these titles will never be used.
