Was this entire palace used by members of the Royal family or did just Carl and Maud have an apartment there?
First of all: We have two houses with almost the same name: Bernstorff Slot (a palace 10 kilometres north of Amalienborg) and Bernstorffs Palæ (a mansion next to Amalienborg). The picture I posted in my previous message was of the mansion next to Amalienborg. The first royals to live in this mansion were Prince Ferdinand (1792-1863), who was a brother of Christian VIII, and his wife Caroline (1793-1881), who was a daughter of Frederik VI. After Caroline's death the mansion was bought by King George I of Greece, who used a part of the house when he was in Denmark. Another part was rented out to the Supreme Court, and it was also here that Prince Carl and Princess Maud got an apartment after their marriage. The mansion was sold after King George's death in 1913.
Uncle Waldemar and aunt Marie were in the Yellow Palace
Valdemar and Marie also used Bernstoff Slot after the death of Christian IX.
but what about the other princes and princesses?
There were quite many other princes and princesses who lived many different places. It would be a bit much to list them all. Do you have any specific princes in mind?
