That Countess Alexandra is no longer in the public eye so much is mainly because she organisations etc she was protector of asked her to leave.

: Thus implying that the Countess was
: receiving part of the apanage that the RF
: receives. Which is not the case.
: As has been mentioned here many times before
: it was solely due to a special request by
: Queen Margrethe herself to her PM which he
: handed over to Parliament that after her
: divorce the Countess was to receive a
: special amount of money which was granted
: her by using særloven , meaning a special
: law, especially constructed for the
: Countess. Nothing to do with any apanage at
: Prince Joachim paid for his sons support
: plus he bought his ex-wife & young sons
: a villa in a very posh neighbourhood. Villa
: was mortgage free.
: If only the Prince had also wanted to
: provide for his ex-wife with an annual
: partner-alimony there would never have been
: written so much about the special treatment
: the Countess received all these years, with
: an income that was higher than that of the
: Danish PM!
: But the Queen, who always stated that this
: divorce was a private matter handed the
: bill for this partner alimony to the
: PM/Parliament and thus to the taxpayers.
: Who said 'private' ????
: Am sure the Danish-speaking posters have
: followed the news about this special
: arrangement too and are fully aware of how
: much protesting there has been over the
: years about this unfair way of letting the
: taxpayers take care of the bill..
: The Countess only had a few Patronages where
: she turned up at irregular intervals, so she
: no longer takes real part in official Danish
: life and seems to have no wish to be often
: seen/connected to the public that once
: adored her, clearly showing she is a shrewd
: business woman who has taken good care of
: her own financial interests and just went
: her own way ....
: It is sad in fact that a once promising new
: member of the Danish RF turned out to be so
: self-centered and only wanted to profit from
: the few years she was married to the Queen's
: second son
