But the rump parliament opted for a monarchy. No socialists were able to take their seats in the parliament.
In this thread several Danish Princes were mentioned. Personally, I have wondered why the Swedish Prince Wilhelm wasn't suggested. He was married to the Russian Grandduchess Maria Pavlovna. Since Finland had been parts of Sweden and of Russia, that could have been a way of combining this. (I guess Prince Lennart would then have been forced to marry equally.)
