: In English, the spelling of the Bibical name
: is Noah. My son has a Noah in his class. And
: then of course, there is the father of
: American spelling, Noah Webster, author of
: the famous dictionary, and of spelling books
: that were used by five generations of
: American children. He is the reason why
: Americans write "colour" as
: "color," for example.
I understand that it is the spelling in the US, but I think it looks ridiculous in Swedish. But again, I have also seen the name Hanna spelled Hannah. The strangest thing I've heard on this subject was when I asked a Swedish woman why her boy's name was spelled Oliwer instead of Oliver. She replied that they wanted the name to be more American... But do Americans really spell the name Oliwer? That must change the pronunciation.
(Interesting piece of fact about Noah Webster.)
