Today King Harald and Queen Sonja hosts the annual dinner for Stortinget. The court has published a nice article about the history of the dinner which was first hosted by King Haakon and Queen Maud in 1906, its only in norwegian unfortunatly.

Since the wife of one of the members of Stortinget took a short cut and drove her car down the palace steps some years ago the court has taken care not to have it happen again

On the menu there is moose which was shot during a hunt where the King took part in Sikkilsdalen. For desert there is Plums from Bygdøy royal farm
