While reading the Norwegian papers I noticed this article which mentions that 4 out of 10 Representatives in Stortinget (Parliament) rather opt for a Republic than a Monarchy...
It would be interesting hearing the opinions from fellow Norwegian posters and also if this tendency towards a Norwegian republic is a broader feeling?

* I can imagine where some protests are coming from, when reading the CP couple will get 1 million N.Kr. more in apanage this year, mostly based upon the fact they will have to maintain the present state of their Manor (which has been restored around the time of their wedding and was upgraded recently, using the excuse of the economic crise (!), and all of this is now resulting in a pay-raise to 'maintain the high standard of Skaugum', all of which had been paid for by the State even though Skaugun is privately owned 
)
