After an extensive 3 year renovation project, Vor Frelsers Kirke (Our Saviour's Church) in Christianshavn will celebrate the completion this coming Sunday with a special service attended by HM Queen Margrethe.
The 1698 baroque organ has been oiled and pieces that have fallen off re-attached. In order to prevent further drying out, the heat in the church will be kept at a constant temperature. For the comfort of the parishioners the pews are now heated, a motion sensor detecting when someone sits down.
