Was he ever on bad terms with her?

We have also seen Princess Amalia at a duty with her mother...and also Princess Elisabeth. Other RFs have regular photoshootings and soon the so called "vacation" of the Spanish RF, when one would get to see several dozen, if not hundred photos of the mini infantas probably, would start.
So I´d say no European Royal house is going for complete privacy in connection to their children. And that´s probably the best way...
