Danish law allows that. The Danish nobility organization is fighting against it, exactly to prevent a scenario like this:
1) Hugo von Holstein marries Anna Jensen
2) Anna takes her husband's surname - but later divorces him
3) Anna von Holstein marries Peter Hansen, and he takes the name Peter von Holstein
4) Peter and Anna's children get the name von Holstein
5) Even worse: Peter's children from a previous marriage also get the surname von Holstein.
