The precious heirloom (then) Tronfølger Margrethe wore at the time of her wedding (June 10, 1967) was a beautiful jewel her mother, Queen Ingrid, had received several decades earlier (in memory of her late mother, the much beloved Kronprinsessa Margaretha of Sweden).
At the time of the wedding it was only lent to Margrethe, she was to inherit it much later!
You'll find much more info in Bjarne Steen Jensen's fabulous book on the Danish Royal Jewels 
But, indeed, the Danish Queen often uses the equally lovely but much cheeper marguerites (daisies) earrings/brooche, which can be bought at many Danish jeweller shops.
