In Spain, the husband of a Princess of Asturias (equivalent to Crown Princess in Sweden) would be HRH the Prince of Asturias. No difference between male and female consorts. The last example was Carlos of BTS, between 1901 and 1904.

: Well that depends on what line the Swedish
: court wants to follow.
: They have several options:
: 1) equal succession rights for men and women
: means equal treatment in titles so
: Victoria's husband will be HRH the
: crownprince of Sweden as the spouse of the
: heiress to the throne.
:
: 2) following non-equal examples in Denmark
: and The Netherlands meaning that the husband
: of the crownprincess is created HRH prince X
: of Sweden.
:
: 3) following the example of Spanish
: Infanta's and the UK thus making Victoria's
: husband Duke(-consort) of Västergötland.
:
: 4) giving him his own title allthough i
: don't know if Swedish law would allow that
: as there seems to be no option to create new
: noble titles in Sweden.
:
: I think that by opting for complete
: primogeniture countries should treat women
: in line of succession as men have been
: treated so far and that includes that the
: husbands of the Royal Ladies should be
: treated the same as the women that married
: into the Royal Family were treated
: beforehand. So im hoping for option 1. By
: naming the one in line of succession first
: when discussing the couple any questions
: about who is the Royal and who married into
: it can easily be evaded. TRH the
: crownprincess and crownprince for Sweden and
: TRH the crownprince and crownprincess for
: Denmark.

: I think Joris has a valid question. To
: recap,
:
: When a royal couple is reigning, and
:
: 1a. the man inherits the position, its
: "King" and "Queen (Consort
: [implied in my eyes, but never
: stated])".
:
: 1b. the woman inherits the position, its
: "Queen" and "Prince
: Consort".
:
: So, when the couple are pretenders to the
: throne, and following UK tradition, in the
: same vein as above
:
: 2a. its Crown Prince and Crown Princess.
:
: 2b. its Crown Princess and ????
