The sermons and homilies at the Dutch weddings and funerals are looooooooooooong indeed. Nor for most protestants denominations as they are used to hear the Word of God. But for Catholics (like me) who are used to the Roman Missal with a few short readings and a short sermon, it was exhausting. Especially when it is an annoying speaker who is not able to catch and hold your attention.
