Mary to fight against skin cancer
Crownprincess Mary began the year's sun campaign on Monday April 28th by sending a sun dispatch rider off to thousands of Danish school children, in the fight against skin cancer.
Crownprincess Mary was met by 700 children shouting with joy and merry, when she opened the Danish Cancer Society's and TrygFonden's campaign, "Go out of the sun between 12 and 15", at Gilleleje Skole.
The campaign has for instance the intention of teaching children how incredible important it is, to protect oneself against the sun's harmful rays, which hits several hundred Danes every year.
The Crownprincess was very glad to hear how much the knowledge children already have about the sun and its harmful effect.
- I am impressed over how much the children know about how to protect oneself from the sun, Crownprincess Mary said about the five children, as they presented the sun campaign's most important messages: siesta, sunhat, sunscreen. The five children helped the Crownprincess with sending the sun dispatch rider off out in the Danish holiday cottage area.
Beautifully dressed in a red cardigan with a fresh summer-skirt, Mary talked actively with the school's children, about how you can protect yourself from the sun's harmful rays.
