First dog Helike was run over by a car on Fredensborg
The queen's dog had to go on the operating table
The Dachshund Helike hovered between life and death.
Dronning Margrethe got an all clear to keep her loved dachshund Helike, who was driven down on Fredensborg.
The two-year-old royal hunting dog now however has to have to go through a stressful hip surgery, before it hopefully again is 'fit for fight'.
The royal house's communication officer, Lene Balleby, informs over bt.dk that Helike today apparently has signs of progress.
On Tuesday the state was critical - yes actually the little dog floated between life and death.
But now it'll be taken good care of.
The report I have gotten today, are that Helike is getting better, and that there needs to be a hip surgery, when Helike is a little better.
It'll be earliest on Friday, says Lene Balleby.
She informs that Helike was driven down by a service car, which was not too near to Fredensborg but with the Guard's watch staff.
Here Helike had unseen of everybody slipped under the service car, which hit the little dachshund, when the driver would drive away from Fredensborg.
Helike is today hospitalized at Københavns Dyrehospital.
Dronning Margrethe got the dachshund as a birthday present of Prins Henrik in 2006.
The dog is named after a Greek nymph, who was one of Zeus' three nurses.
