The Queen has allowed the children of Camilla and her sister Josephine to bear the surname "af Rosenborg" (without any title). But I don't think Her Majesty has ever given the Rosenborg-sisters permission to keep the title "Komtesse" after marriage. Camilla explained it herself in Billed-Bladet 4 November 2004. Asked why they still call themselves "Komtesser" she said:
"But we don't. It's the press who does. We don't do it ourselves. We call us Rosenborg, since it's our name. When I married, I kept my maiden name which is Rosenborg. The Queen has given permission that our children kan have the Rosenborg name too."
