Counts of Rosenborg

Seeing that all princes (except Henrik) now have the secondary title Count of Monpezat, it seems highly unlikely that there will ever be created any new Count of Rosenborg. However, those who already hold the title Count of Rosenborg will keep it for life, and the title will continue in the male line for ever. Like in any other noble family.

There are currently four Rosenborg-lines:

Descendants of Prince Erik:
Count Valdemar of Rosenborg (b. 1965), who has one son, Count Nicolai (b. 1997)

Descendants of Prince Oluf:
Count Ulrik of Rosenborg (b. 1950), who has one son, Count Philip (b. 1986)

Descendants of Prince Flemming:
Count Axel of Rosenborg (b. 1950), who has two sons, Count Carl Johan (b. 1979) and Count Alexander (b. 1993)
Count Birger of Rosenborg (b. 1950), who has no sons

Count Carl Johan of Rosenborg (b. 1952), who has no sons

Descendants of Prince Knud:
Count Ingolf of Rosenborg (b. 1940), who has no sons

Count Christian of Rosenborg (b. 1940), who has no sons.
