: Is this extra title only used by descendants
: who are HKH (HRH in English)?
:
: No, it is given to Frederik and Joachim and
: their male-line descendants born in wedlock.
:
: Meaning
: Princes Nikolai and Felix won't get to use
: this?
:
: Yes they will. And their children, and their
: sons' children, etc. etc.
:
: Since it's a French title, are there
: privileges that go with it in France?
:
: It isn't a French title. It is a new Danish
: title.
:
: I
: assume not so it's simply a title although
: I'm confused by its purpose. Is it just a
: way to honor Prince Henrik?
:
: I guess both to honor Prince Henrik, and to
: ensure that future descendants have a title
: even if they somehow lose the title of
: Prince.
:
In the past descendants of Princes of Denmark without the title "Prince" have been titled Counts/Countesses af Rosenborg. My thought is that if they wanted to simply limit the number of Princes/Princesses of Denmark they would have given them the same title. To me this seems more to be a way to honor the Prince Consort rather than a way to provide for future generations (although it does so rather nicely).
: This is my question too, Marlene. I guess
: QMII can just create titles if she wants to.
:
: Yes, at least within the Royal House.
:
: However, Henri is not himself a count by
: birth
: ... Has the queen created her husband a
: count.
:
: Not by this decree. But hasn't the Danish
: Court always accepted the French comtial
: title of the Monpezat-family?
