I think that there's a real danger of exaggerating. While Federer got the better deal of scheduling last year, he also had vast experience of winning in Grand Slam finals and was the favourite. Even though Murray had beaten him in smaller events, I don't think that there was any doubt that he was over-awed by the occasion. He might have won a set or possibly even two, but I don't think that he would have beaten Federer even if they had had the same rest.
Murray has much been less injury-prone of late, so I don't think we need to worry about him burning out already. Of course, injuries can come out of anywhere - look at Federer's back - but I think Murray will be OK.
Yes, it's a bad defeat for him, but to say that his grand slam credentials have taken a pounding is a bit harsh, in my view. It took Federer an awful lot of Slams and a lot of losses before he really got going. Even he was at the top of his game, I can remember him being beaten by Kuerten at the French Open. These losses happen and Murray always seems to run into a hot player, but we shouldn't be writing him off just yet.
