I think 2 years.
The game always moves on with stronger players appearing. Also the statistics favour the younger players.
I hope last year isn't Murray's best chance.
I'm still angry that the US open schedule for 2008 was such a shambles and Murray had to play in the final 22 hours after beating Nadal while Federer had much more time to rest up. Murray definately had the mental and physical advantage over Federer last year in a fair fight.
Quite a few players go high in the rankings for 18 months and then vanish soon afterwards due to injury. I hope really Murray isn't on that path.
The hype isn't to be believed any more. Murray's grandslam credentials have taken a huge pounding and although it's not the end of the story, it's a hard cahpater to think positively about.
