MONTREAL MASTERS BOTB - DAY 6 'SYNDICATED' REPORT
Muzza beat Tsonga to become world no. 2 but Duckboy fluffed a match point then double faulted on bp to leave Potty to serve out the match, resulting in a big shake-up of the table.
Detailed results can be found at http://www.britishtennis.net/competitions.html, with 'headlines' appearing on http://twitter.com/botb1 as well, while for a nicknames guide, please see http://www.andymurray.com/forum/showthread.php?t=253)
TEAMS
BT.net, up 1 to 1st, may not have won a round yet but their overall consistency has taken them to the top of the table with one match to go. R1 & QF winners Rusedski.co.uk, down 1 to 2nd, are nearly a point behind, while AM.com have soared up 4 places to 3rd ahead of TAT, who stay in 4th.
SF round winners BBC 606, up 5 to 5th, had the best day of all and are now ahead of Team CC, down 3 to 6th, while JM.org have risen 2 to 7th. Despite Duckboy's loss, the Ducklings are still in 8th but R2 winners GBTG have dropped another 3 to 9th.
R3 winners The Dammitaires have risen 2 to 10th, just ahead of the biggest fallers of the day, the Feddies, down 6 to 11th as Rogi's loss really begins to bite. MTF, up 1 to 12th, have climbed off the bottom, leaving Tennisopolis to complete their inexorable descent from 1st to last in the space of a few days!
INDIVIDUALS
The lead is now shared by three entrants who got both finalists correct, Randall Six (IN), Fiercehart (TA) & Fishflaps (MP), all up 17. I have listed them in that order instead of ranking order as on the table because if they finish like that, the special additional tiebreak (earliest entry) used if any of the top three cannot be separated by the main tiebreak will result in them finishing in that order. On the same number of points as the leaders, SLess (CC) & DJ (MP) both move up 22 to share 4th place.
In the closest finish to a BOTB I can remember, the rest of the top 10 are only a point behind. Robxon (BT), up 22 to 6th and JAMES4578 (JM), up 23 to 7th, are just ahead of Smidster (BT), down 6 to 8th, who is the only entrant not to have got both finalists correct to still be in the top 16! jasonblueboy (IN) & Scratchy (BT), both up 25 to 9=, complete the top 10.
ON THE RISE
Of the 31 entrants who got both finalists correct, four rose over 100 places - bangkok (IN), up 101 to 69th, aurevoirjustine (BB), up 102 to 70th, kinley31 (BT), up 106 to 109th, and Gazzpash (BT), up 107 to 110th.
Other players outside the top 10 who got a perfect score in the semis were -David-- (LH), up 34 to 11th, Dentist Appointment (IN), up 39 to 12th, Christian (BT) & Katie (AM), both up 43 to 13=, aedra1119 (TA) & JM1138 (BT), both up 44 to 15=, oneminutetomidknight (AM), up 62 to 25th, ptmcmahon (TA), up 80 to 26th, jesswrig (TA), up 77 to 30th, Scotsguy (CC), up 81 to 31st, Big Al (CC) & MrInvisible (CC), both up 81 to 32=, WallaceEMann (GR), up 83 to 39th, tlimvvo2max (CC), up 90 to 60th, Silver (BT), up 92 to 61st, Allan (AM), up 95 to 128th, Matts the best! (IN), up 91 to 144th, and Cain Bradley (BB), up 65 to 188th.
DODGY DROPPERS
102 entrants failed to get either finalist, the biggest fallers being mattk77 (SG) & Suliso (TA), both down 72 to 90=. I won't list the other 100! However, Keith Nunn (AM) is now certain to be the 'lanterne rouge' in Montréal, though still well out of the clutches of the poor hungry gorillas!
