Spare a thought for Anna Fitzpatrick
Pretty much forgotten as a British Junior - it is all about Laura Robson, Heather Watson and Joanna Konta as the "future of british womens' tennis" now.
Anna was in the semi's of junior wimbledon (i think i'm right here) only two years back and around this time last year she was closing in on the top 300 at just 19 years of age and was british number 7. No one would have noticed much as all the headlines were for Robson winning Junior Wimby and Anne Keothavong breaking into the top 100.
Still, I reckon she must be a real prospect. Then she got injured and stayed injured for AGES.
Well....even tho she is now around 900 in the world (and British number 20 something) and has virtually run out of ranking points she is in the final of a 10K tomorrow (against Heather Watson who will steal any available headlines) and I for one think this is a great performance. I hope that she mashes Heather Watson and storms back up the rankings.
Top 100 by wimbledon please !
