I was glad i did go out for a wander after the semis because otherwise I wouldn't have heard the "come on Greg"s that drew me towards Court 2.
There were big queues at the entrances but it didn't take that long to get in. He was playing with Petch against Pat Cash and Chris Wilkinson and was by far the best player on court (as you'd expect given that he was the youngest player there and had been a better player than most of them in the first place) and I'm not quite sure how they managed to lose.
The most striking thing about the match though was Greg's cheer squad. I don't know where he'd got them from, but the voices were young and male, so my guess is that he'd brought along some of the U16s he looks after. They were absolutely fantastic, cheering for him after amost every point and they seemed to have a different Greg-themed song to sing on every changeover. The man himself was clearly loving it and interacting with them, it was great to see.
Muzza could have done with them on centre earlier!
I think Pat Cash was getting a bit miffed, even to the point of chucking a few of his sweatbands (eww) into the crowd to try to drum up a bit more support.
