I'm a PC techie and a buddie of mine asked me to setup a new editing rig...all is perfect except he cannot capture from his Sony DVCam DCR-PC101 via FW using the RT2500 Matrox DV/Device Control. Tonight I got it to capture using DV/1394 but then it is not rendered. He gets a message that the device is not connected via Matrox. Using Premiere 6.0 patched. Latest Matrox Tools/drivers. I've tested various FW ports and settings and the above was the best I could establish. I had a feeling that Windows MovieMaker was messing so I used XPLite Pro to remove it, before stripping MovieMaker could not even capture from DV/1394. Keep in mind when I mention FW I am refering to the port on the 2500. The Config to follow.BTW I fought like a SOB to get XP-Premiere-MTools-Dual View-RT2500-to all play nice...for 2 months he's crash free..the machine does not become unstable or crash Premiere just does not see the device via Matrox. Have not had a chance to test with another camera yet..will update if it helps...
