I have been using an RT2500 since it was kind of the new kid on the block - still am. I am running it on a PIII 1.0 ghz with 512mg ram on a 1854 Tyan board from about 2002. My point is - if the "expense" means anything, you can go back a couple of years on components and still have a good operating NLE. Is it the fastest thing 'round the block - I guess not. But it seems to be stable and unless you get enough business to need something zippier (which would also give ya the bucks to throw at it), you could do worse. I don't even have an AGP display board, but my 128 bit PCI card is plugging along pretty darn well, even though the Matrox tech back then thought I was kidding. Well, Best of luck. I have never been on this board before, so I may not be of much further help. Just FYI.
