I've been away from this board for several months now -- predictably, Bob remains focused on anti-gay... anti-Hillary Clinton... anti-liberal issues.
Meanwhile... the country (and world) is going through the very issues pointed out by liberals and moderates. Global warming is now being more widely identified and accepted as a real threat (and not a liberal hype or myth). The disparity between classes has widened significantly between the wealthy elite and the lower classes (the middle class is dissolving). Home foreclosures are on the rise, due to less consumer protections and lax regulations on insurance companies (who raise their rates to levels which honest Americans can no longer afford). Likewise, health insurance is becoming less affordable for millions of Americans, and less attainable (due to denial of coverage for 'pre-existing conditions', etc.). And the list goes on and on...
Republicans and neo-conservatives couldn't be happier... after all, the top-dogs in their ranks are all about helping the rich become wealthier and driving a hard-line approach for the rest of us. Many of them consider themselves "Christian"... but by virtue of their ideology, they strike me as far more ROMAN than Christ-like.
And they still persist in pursuing non-issues such as gay marriage... flag burning... yadda yadda yadda...
Hopefully, America will come to its senses in 2008. If not, we won't be "America" any more.
