I did notice that the word, "perfected," struck some of her critics as meaning that Christians, and Coulter in particular, consider themselves "perfect," in the sense of flawless. But that is simply not the sense of that word in context. Jesus, as a Jew, completed, or perfected Judaism. Given that critics could honestly misconstrue this word, I thought that perhaps they were innocent in their reaction. If so, then maybe by being more careful, we can better communicate our ideas. It's just that the critics were so eager to jump, and went so far overboard with their reactions. Would that they could be as reactive when Ahmadinejad really DOES say that he intends to wipe Israel off the map--- literally--- and that unlike Coulter, he is "perfecting" the means to do so. But Coulter does not get invited to give speeches at Columbia (no one threw pies at Ahmadinejad). Hopefully, the chasm between left and right can be at least partially bridged with careful words and honest interpretation.

I have criticized Coulter in the past, but in this instance I cannot find anything "moronic" in what she said. She's simply saying that she's a Christian because she believes in the tenets of her faith. If she did not believe in them, then she'd be a not-Christian.
